A quagga was a type of zebra that lived in southern Africa.
It had zebra stripes on its head and neck, but its back was sandy brown.
It looked a little bit like a zebra and a horse sharing one coat.
Quaggas are not alive today. That means they are extinct.
We can still learn about them from old photos, museum skins, bones, and careful scientists.
