Meet the golden toad

The golden toad was a tiny bright toad that lived high up in the misty cloud forests of Costa Rica.
It was only a few centimetres long, just the right size to rest on a thumb or a leaf.
Male golden toads shone a deep golden orange, almost like polished treasure in the rain.
They lived in cool, damp forests where clouds and fog wrapped around the trees.
