HOP.

Tiny toad lands.

Bump on leaf.

Bump on moss.

Bump on stone.

Touch your jumper.

Bumpy?

Bumpy.

Toad squats low.

Back legs bend.

Can you bend?

HOP!

Leaves crunch.

Can you crunch?

Crunch with hands.

Crunch, crunch.

Toad stops.

One eye blinks.

Blink.

Can you blink?

Big leaf ahead.

Wet leaf.

Dark leaf.

Toad pushes under.

Tap the dark leaf to make the toad peek and blink.

Tap the leaf. It lifts a little, the toad peeks, and everything goes shhh.

Whisper now.

Shhh...

Only toes show.

Tiny toes.

Still toes.

Then—

Big leap.

Legs stretch.

Belly lifts.

Feet land.

Plop.

Can you plop?

Toad turns round.

Slow, slow.

Back under leaf.

Shhh...

No hop.

No crunch.

No plop.

Just one eye.

Blink.

Under the dark leaf.
